Direction - what it is? (Software)

Hello,

What is direction?
My understanding that it is a non-oriented kind of azimuth.

That's is it: a non-orientated (w.r.t the north) azimuth.

Please note that angles staring from point 1006 are "reset". According to my interpretation of the direction, I would expect to see angles for the points 1006,1004,1005 continue to increase (for example they would be bigger than angle to the point 1003). Why it is not the case ?

During the adjustment, the sorting order is irrelevant. The file content is divided into observations to the (sorted) object points and observation to the (sorted) reference points. Is it a synthetisch example.

How to represent an "real" azimuth using direction?

Take a look to Fig. 3. You can fix the unknown parameters of a group. The picture shows a distance group and the additional parameters of this kind of group are the scale parameter m and the zero point offset add. For directions, the additional unknown parameter is the orientation ori.
